The Eiffel Tower is named after the French engineer, Gustave Eiffer whose company designed the tower and built it.

The tower, including the antennas, is 324 meters tall (1063 ft.) and weights over 10 thousand tonnes. The construction of the tower took over 2 years.

At the bottom of the tower, the long queues line up to take the tower elevator to the three platforms. Almost 7 million people a year visit it.

The tower platforms provide a magnificent 360 degrees view of the city of Paris.

The Eiffel Tower is lit at night by 20 thousand light bulbs. It happens for 5 minutes every hour until 1am.
